Must-Try Arabic Beard Styles [What’s Hot in 2023?]

The Arabs are mainly inhabitating in Western Asia, North Africa, the Horn of Africa. Of course, there are arabic men all over the world that follow the arabic traditions and speak the Arabic.

Most Arabs are muslims (93%) and only very few of them are Christians. The religion of Islam was developed in Arabia. However, there are many more muslims all over the world. Fun fact, the Arabs only contribute for 20% of all Muslims!

One other characteristic of the Arabs is that most of them grow really awesome beards. They love to grow facial hair and look masculine and badass. They also do it for cultural and relegious reasons. Beards are a sign of masculinity and dominance for them.

In this article, we will talk about the arab beard, how to trim and style it and the best Arabic beard styles.

Without further ado, let’s get into it!

What Is An Arab Beard?

The Arabs used to not care as much for the latest trends and the most fashionable beard styles.

But now, things have shifted. Arab men want and actually look amazing in their beards!

For Arab and Muslim men, growing a beard signifies manliness, manhood, and social status that defines who you really are.

It is also a representation of strength and honor and shows that you are not going to put up with anyone who tries to harm you or put you in disgrace.

Beards have been a part of Arab culture for years and still today they represent strength but also cultural and relegious identity.

Most arabic men wear full beards. Some of them long beards and others relatively shorter ones. However, we rarely see them wear goatees or anything modern or unique.

They do like the full strong beard and they have the genetics to grow it. The Arabs have great beard genetics. Their beards are thick and black.

But you know what, it is a bit unfair to categorize all Arabs together. In fact, I have 3 friends from Jordan that I met in my university.

When I was thinking about creating an article about you, our Arab friends, my best friend from Jordan came into mind. So, I asked him! Hey, Alatoom what is up, malakas?

He responded, ”Hey where are you sarmuta?”

We always like to insult each other!

So, he told me to create 2 separate categories for Arab beard styles because some countries were different styles than others.

Obviously, every Arab man can wear whatever beard style he wants but we focus on what the majority of them wear and why.

Let’s dive in!

Different Kinds Of Arab Beard Styles

  • The Full Beard
  • The Classic Goatee Style
  • Saksouka
  • The Long Beard With or Without Mustache

The full beard is a beard style that men all over the world wear daily. When we refer to this style we don’t mean long beards with mustaches. This is a classic Arab beard style and millions of Arab men love it!

arab full beard

It is a style that involves facial hair on the cheeks, neck, chin and sideburns. Its length should be about 4-8mm long (not too short but also not too long)

If you ask me, this is my favorite but we will also discuss some more spicy choices!

The second style I want to discuss is the goatee. This beard style is an amazing style that has stood the test of time, it is worn all over the world and Arab men love it as well! A man with a goatee beard has facial hair on his chin and also has a soul patch.

arab goatee

However, most Arab men and most men in general also like to pair a mustache with their goatee. It looks better, you know.

To be honest, Arabs have amazing beard genetics and all beard styles look awesome on them. And the goatee is not an exception!

Moving on!

The third style is a style I was not aware of. Alatoom told me that most men there wear full beards, classic goatees or saksouka!

saksuka arab goatee with trimmed mustache

If I have understood correctly, saksouka is simply a classic goatee style with a trimmed mustache and cheeks clean-shaven. They have just given it this name there!

Saksuka is extremely popular in many Arab countries.

The final style I have seen some Arab men wear is the long beard with or without mustache. Normally, I do not like beards without mustaches but on Arab men it looks decent.

However, if you ask my opinion you should all go with heavy stubble full beard. Short easy to manage full beard. Trust me. I mess with beards every single day!

How To Maintain A Beard As An Arab Man

As we have already mentioned, Arab men has awesome thick and strong beards.

However, the fact that they do grow their beards creates the need of maintaining and taking care of them on a daily basis.

For all our Arab friends we recommend you follow an everyday grooming routine as follows:

  1. Wash your face in the morning with cold water
  2. Dry your face well
  3. Apply a few drops of beard oil to keep hydrated, moisturized and without tangles.
  4. Comb your beard in the direction you want it to grow for about 1 minute. This helps remove dead cells, lets your face breathe, teaches your beard to grow in a specific direction and prevents curls and tangles.
  5. Wash your face before you sleep and repeat

This is a very simple daily routine that won’t take you more than 5 minutes. I am a man and I know you are bored to do those things but listen to me and you won’t regret it.

Also, you need to trim your beard (depending on your style) every week. If you grow a goatee/saksuka you may have to trim your cheeks and mustache every 3-4 days.

Do this favor to yourself, gentlemen. Take care of you and your appearance!

To Sum Things Up

Arab men have awesome facial hair genetics and can grow amazing beards. Also the color of their beards is black when they are at a young age which makes their beards look even fuller than they actually are.

The 2 main Arab beard styles are the full beard and saksuka (which is a goatee variation with a trimmed mustache)

In some countries, men regard beards as a sign of obedience and faith to the teachings of Allah by the words of prophet Muhammad. However, I am not 100% for that because I am not an Arab guy. So excuse me if I wrote something wrong. I did my best to validate my sayings but I am a human too.

And that’s really it for today’s article! I really hope you liked it and found it interesting.
