Who Is Karim Benzema?
Karim Mostafa Benzema is a French professional soccer player who plays as a striker for the Spanish club Real Madrid and the France national team.
He has been playing professionally since 2004 and has amassed over 350 appearances in top-level football matches. Benzema is known for his speed, strength, and finishing ability inside the penalty area, as well as his dribbling skills and passing.
Whether we like it or not, he is one of the best strikers out there!
His hairstyle, the buzz cut with bald fade, has become very popular in recent years.
Let’s discuss it!
Karim Benzema Haircut Explained
Benzema’s haircut is called buzz cut with (bald) fade. This style is characterized by very short hair on the sides and back, with the hair on top gradually getting longer as it goes towards the front.
However, even if his hair on top is longer than the side hair, it is still short. That’s why we call it a buzz cut. It is actually just a buzz cut variation.
The key to getting this look right is to make sure that the hair on top is not very long and the side hair (and the lower hair on the back of the head) should always be really short really shaven.
You also want to make sure that the hair on the sides and back is very short. This requires you to visit your barber very often or have some skills to do it yourself.
Let’s now discuss the haircut step by step.
How to Get Karim Benzema Haircut Step by Step
If you want to get the Karim Benzema haircut, we recommend you go to a barber who is experienced in cutting this style. It’s important that the barber gets the length and fade right, or you’ll end up with a haircut that doesn’t look very good.
However, here’s how to go about it if you don’t want to go to a barber:
Step 1
Get your hair clippers and if you are not very experienced use the 2mm guard. The number 2 guard can help you get your short hair on the sides but you will not have skin/ bald fade. It will still look good though. If you are experienced, remove any guard and go straight for the zero/bald/skin fade.
Step 2
Choose a height for your fade. There are low, mid and high fades. The name has to do with the height you cut the side hair. Low is around your ears and low on your neck, mid is 1-2 fingers width up and high is all the way up. Benzema has mid fade.
Step 3
Check out Benzema’s photo and visualize how you are going to do the mid fade. Firstly, create the outline only. Create a line in your hair up to which the fade will be.
When you finish with the line from the one point (over your ear) all the way to the back of your head and up to your other ear then look at the mirror or have someone look at you to make sure the line is not having up and downs. You just need a straight and bit curved line.
Step 4
You continue using the clippers without any guard and you shave everything below the line. Do it correctly. Cut any hair around your ears, low on your neck, everything.
Step 5
You get your hair clippers and you are moving 1 (maybe 2 but one is fine) guard higher. In this situation, you should get guard 1 and cut your side hair and the hair at the back of your head (going to the top).
Step 6
It is time to erase the line. Your hair below the line is very very short while the hair above the line is longer. If you have chosen to use guard 2 above the line you can try to erase the line with guard 1.
If you have chosen guard 1 above the line you should either get guard 1 and try to apply more pressure than before across the line or remove the guard and apply very little pressure with the clippers across the line.
This only happens if your clippers does not have a guard between guard 1 and no guard. Some of them do have.
Step 7
Get the number 4 guard and cut everything on top. Firstly, use guard 4 and if you think it is long, then and only then repeat the process with the number 3 (or even 2) guard.
Remember, hair that is cut does not return back. We should always play it SAFE.
Especially if you are an amateur.
As you may possibly understand, getting a fade haircut is not easy. Getting a haircut, in general, is not easy. But I get it some simple buzz cuts are relatively easy to do.
Always keep in mind that when you are trying to get a fade haircut for the first time, you may encounter some difficulties and the ending result may not be as expected.
However, that’s part of the process. When you master the process you will not have to pay money for a haircut anymore.
Choose what you wanna do wisely and if you try it yourself, have patience and don’t be so harsh with yourself. If you mess it up or you don’t wanna risk it, just visit your barber!
