During the man of the match interview, Ronaldo said that his goatee was actually a joke he had with Quaresma. The two teammates were in the sauna before their match against Spain.
Ronaldo started shaving and left a goatee. He then said that if he scored during the game the next day, he would leave the goatee for the rest of the tournament. Coincidentally, his goatee worked like his lucky charm. He scored during the game so the goatee was left to stay.
